The major equipment, which is used commonly in electronic circuit applications, is a Function Generator (FG). As the name indicates, a Function Generator generates different voltage signals, such as Sine, Square(Pulse), Triangle. The most commonly required signals in electronic circuits are Sine and Pulse. Sine wave signals find their use mostly in Analog circuits, such as amplifiers, filters, etc. Pulse signals are useful in testing the time response of circuits and also as Clock signals in Digital circuits. In a general pulse signal, the high and low level time periods are different. Square wave is a special case when the periods are equal.

1. Power On/Off Switch : Toggle Switch for On /OFF
2. Power Indicator : Red LED Jewel Light when ON Glows
3. Frequency Control : After Selection of Ranges by means of rotary switch ,frequency can be adjusted by rotating the knob. Frequency can be calculated by multiplying frequency multiplier with the dial position.
4. Frequency Multiplier : The frequency range is selected by means of rotary switch to select the appropriate range as indicated on the panel.
5. Waveform Selector Switch : Select the output waveform: Sine, Square, Triangular
6. Amplitude Control : Controls the Amplitude of the output signal
7. Amplitude Multiplier : Multiplies the Output by the multiplier selected value.
8. Output Terminals : Output waveform as selected.
